Internet based favor stores will for the most part stock the same items, however they will all compete with each other on price and offers and this is what you need to keep an eye on. Whilst one may offer you a 10% discount of your first order, then next may offer your 10% and free shipping. Many will offer free shipping once your order reaches a certain total and you will discover that many vendors will compete on this as well, slashing the minimum total by a cent or two compared to their nearest rival!
Another good tip is to register for newsletters or special offers. Many sites will give further discount codes for those who register for their newsletter and these discounts can be very good indeed, some even as much as 20% off. Even if they don’t offer such discounts for registering or as an introductory offer, it is still worth registering for the email newsletter as you will know the instant a new offer or discount is applied to the site.
But you don’t need to buy your favors from a specialty store online. Supermarkets, wholesalers and gift stores can all offer up items which make great wedding favors and often at prices that beat those online. Dollar stores can also be a great source of favors, but be careful of quality from these stores, top end goods are rarely sold for a dollar each. That said, they are a good place for tea light and votive candles and for matching candle holders to accompany them.
Online auction sites such as Ebay are also good places for favors as you can often pick up goods at prices lower than other retailers. It is also a place for your packaging needs with many sellers offering bulk quantities at low prices. But be careful when dealing with sellers on these kinds of sites. Check their feedback rating and always pay through Paypal so that your purchase is protected under their buyer scheme.
Finally, not all wedding favors have to be shop bought. Many brides take great pride and pleasure in making their own favors. Things such as cookies, mini cakes, plants, scented sachets and even recipe cards can all be made at home for very little expense and are a great way of achieving unique favors with a touch of your own personality thrown in!
